Apparently...

I haven't been updating my blog enough lately! My mom was wondering why I haven't been around here much. Sorry everyone! To be honest, I'm struggling with what to write about the whole 21 day art journal challenge. I'm just not sure what to say. So I guess I'll just do a little update...
We had a very quiet, low key Easter weekend. I think it was the first weekend ever that we have not spent time with our families. We stayed in Calgary and just relaxed (well, at least I did). I made a ham dinner on Saturday night and we went to church on Sunday morning but other than that, it was quiet.
Jonathan's been asked to teach a spring course at Rocky Mountain College (the school he did his undergrad at) so he has been madly trying to write that. It starts next Monday and I'm sure he's wishing he had another week to complete it. He's definitely feeling the strain of working 2 full-time jobs right now. I'm trying to be as supportive as possible by doing lots of cooking and cleaning and helping out but I must say, I'm kinda looking forward to him being finished so I can have my husband back again. I am VERY proud of him though for doing this and starting to live out his dreams (he would LOVE to be a professor some day).
I haven't done too much scrapping lately. I've been feeling pretty burnt out after entering HOF and then doing the 21 day challenge. I'm still working on some stuff for classes (which I hope to finish and scan tonight to share) and I entered the Maya Road contest. But other than that, I haven't done too much.
Instead I've been reading lots. I don't usually let myself start a book when I'm super busy because I have this problem where I can't put it down until it's finished. So because of that, I haven't read much for months and months. My mom gave me a whole pile of books at Christmas time and I finally got through them all. Yesterday I started the Chronicles of Narnia, at the beginning with 'The Magician's Nephew'. I read 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' right before the movie came out but that was my first exposure to the books. I figured it was high time I read them all so that's what's on my bedside table right now.
This coming weekend, I'm heading up to Edmonton with my friend Mary for the Urban Scrapbook Convention. We're meeting up with my mom and aunt and a whole bunch of other ladies to take some classes with Donna Downey, Danelle Johnson, Becky Fleck from Basic Grey, Candi Higley from Cactus Pink and Kara Wylie from Heidi Swapp. I am VERY EXCITED!!!!!! I'm sure we are going to have an amazing time!
And that's about it for right now!
Happy Monday everyone!

Yeah!! Thanks for updating today! These entries are like little phone calls from you every time I see a new one. I'm glad you have been relaxing - you definitely needed it. And the mojo will come back - don't worry! I'm sure that after the weekend you will be totally inspired!
Love you!

I'm so wishing I could be joining you in Edmonton this weekend!! I'm sure you'll have a great time!!!

How cool that you're reading the Chronicles of Narnia. Austin wanted to watch the movie, so I suggested we read the series first. We finished the magician's nephew and are now on the 6th chaper of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Nothing like a little nudging from your Mom to get you back on the blog wagon! LOL! I miss the updates too, but I know how you feel about what to say. I read all these blogs that are so fascinating and then I look at mine. However, I'm not putting myself out there as much as other people and I really don't want my blog to become a vent space, KWIM?

Wow, you sure do have lots going on in your life! I find it interesting that you are reading the same books that I live reading. I haven't delved into the Chronicles of Narnia yet, but I'm like you in the sense that I don't like to start reading when I'm super busy.

I'm so jealous of your scrapbook weekend!! Sounds like it's going to be tons of fun surrounded with amazing people! Have fun and please share your experiences so I can live vicarously through you! LOL! Have a great weekend!

Hey Heath,
Mom's right, these notes are like little phone calls, especially for me. I'm glad you have taken some time to do some reading. I've done far more of that than scrapping lately. So, last night I finally set aside everything else and did a page in my Taiwan album. I'm using only what I have here thanks to Mom, but it'll do to show some highlights of our year here. Maybe I'll have it done by the time I see you, so I can share with you. I need some creative inspiration from my older sis.
Love and hugs.
Melinda

Great to read your update Heather. I don't think I'd EVER be up to the task of keeping my own blog so ... I'm what you might call a 'blog lurker'. I read lots of them and love to hear everyone's news. My point ... kudos to you on the entries that you DO make.

Just so ya know ... I'm totally jealous about your upcoming convention. I so wish I would have registered. Be sure you fill us in on the details when it's all said and done.

Not up to much just that huge list of stuff. That is a lot to accomplish.

Have a blast this weekend. Sounds like some big names are going to be there.
